Palisades Pecha Kucha (LITE)
Description
PechaKucha (LITE) is a simple presentation format where you show 10 images, each for 15 seconds. The images advance automatically and you provide a running dialogue to compliment the images. http://www.pecha-kucha.org/
Task
Student groups will create and then present a pecha kucha which will meet the learning objectives. They will use images from their Palisade's experience.
Topics:
1) Climate Change -starting in Jasper (Glacier) & throughout Canada
2) Species at Risk -historical perspective (beavers, bison, caribou, etc)
3) Water as a Shaper -the beautiful and the awesome! (Jasper vs. Calgary)
4) Water Pollution (Athabasca Watershed) -from the source to the source
5) Developed Journal Posting
Learning Objectives
Students will develop and deliver a pecha kucha* that will identify; • trends in the consumption and use of water (provides supporting details) • issues related to the effects of water consumption • suggestions for water conservation • predictions regarding environmental change at global levels caused by water consumption
